Great job this week guys, this was definitely the best we have sounded overall as a team in a long time. I was very proud of our performance, and we received lots of compliments on our "tight" sound. What a great God we have for allowing us to serve in this way!
I do have to say a special good job to Nathan on lead guitar this week. He had a lead line in just about every song, and some of them were definitely not easy, and he nailed them both services! Great job Nathan.
For this upcoming week...
Prelude - Beautiful Day by U2
I realize that on the website, we are supposed to play Call Me by Blondie, but we do not have the capabilities to perform that this week. Therefore, we will be playing Beautiful Day instead.
No acoustic guitar needed.
Bryce, Nathan, you guys should know how to play this song, if you don't, let me know.
Song - All Because of Jesus
Vocalists - I sing first verse, Andrew sings second verse - harmony on chorus, unison on bridge. Andrew, since you are singing lead, you will also sing the echo on the chorus, so make sure you listen to that.
Band - Play this just like we have before, we play it just like the .mp3, no changes.
Acoustic player should lay down the chords in the verses, and strum during chorus and bridge.
Song - This is Our God
Vocalists - last time we did this, it was just me and Nathan, but this time it will be the entire vocal team. I will sing verse 1, Nathan will come in with tenor harmony on first chorus, then everyone sings verse 2 and chorus 2. Courtney, Nathan sings the lower alto part just like the guy on the .mp3, so learn the tenor part above the melody.
Band - Unfortunately, the .mp3 is just piano and acoustic, but we will play this with the entire band.
Drums come in at the beginning of the second verse (after first chorus and piano instrumental)
Bass should come in with drums
Acoustic guitar should come in on the first chorus.
Song on .mp3 is in F# major, but we are playing it in G major, like the sheet music.
Very simple week. Should be easy at practice, so let's have fun with it and knock it out quick.
