Prelude - The Rising by Bruce Springsteen
VOCALISTS: YOU ARE SINGING HARMONY ON THIS SONG
Vocalists - Nathan will sing the melody / listen to the .mp3 and try to learn your part / the alto part is NOT THE PART YOU HEAR THE WOMEN SINGING - that is the tenor line / you will sing starting at the 2nd chorus and the "li, li, li, li's" / I will sing any additional tenor harmonies
Play it exactly as .mp3
We WILL play the entire song
The song is in Eb (guitars can tune down 1/2 step to play in E-major, but I don't recommend it since we have praise songs IMMEDIATELY afterwards)
Acoustic guitar can capo 1 and play in D-major
This song is being performed as a prelude/special song to start the service which is why we are playing the entire song. So this needs to be performed well, and more serious that we would typically perform a prelude. We are setting the tone for the rest of the service with this piece.
Song - My Savior Lives
Vocalists - I will sing verse 1 / Katie verse 2 / harmony on chorus / harmony on bridge
Band - like .mp3, not exact
Nothing different than we normally do it - just make sure to drive it on the chorus
FLOW: Verse1-Chorus-V2-C-Solo-Bridge-C-C-Outro
Song - Happy Day
Vocalists - sing all verses / harmony on chorus / tenor harmony on bridge (alto's unison)
Band - exactly like .mp3
Keep the verses simple, nothing special on any part
Acoustic shouldn't strum on verses, just lay down the chord - only strum on chorus and intro/outro's
Steady tempo, drums (Bryce!)
FLOW: Intro-V1-Chorus-V2-C-Bridge-C
Song - Jesus Messiah
Vocalists - I will sing verse 1 / Nathan verse 2 / harmony on chorus, bridge, and outro
Band - exactly like .mp3
Bryce, try to get drum beat exactly as on track, especially verses.
Nothing else special.
FLOW: V1-C-V2-C-Bridge-C-Outro
Song - The Solid Rock
Vocalists - I will sing verse 1 / Nathan verse 2 / Jennifer verse 4 / harmony on chorus
Band - exactly as .mp3, except for verse 4 - verse 4 will be sung/played like all other verses
We will end this song with the band cutting out and the vocalists singing the chorus a capella
3/4 time Bryce.
Drive this one on the choruses.
FLOW: V1-C-V2-C-V4-C-C-Outro-Chorus (a capella)
